Kate Cheney Chappell - Lupine Gallery
"Monhegan is a microcosm of our relationship with the earth and each other. It is a place that sustains my creative spirit
through strong friendships and shared passion for art, and through the wild beauty of the island."
- Kate Cheney Chappell

The Lupine Gallery on Monhegan Island
A small island off the mid-coast of Maine, Monhegan is Kate's home in the summer season. For over 20 years, the Lupine Gallery,
at the center of island life, has been showing the art of artists who live and work on the island. Owners Willard Boynton and Jackie
Boegel are year round residents and have raised their two daughters on this beautiful and remote spot 12 miles from the mainland. They
have represented Kate's work since 1993. Lupine Gallery is the best place to see the diversity of art made on the island. Over 60 living
artists are shown in addition to well known artists of earlier centuries, such as Lynne Drexler, Jay Hall Conoway, Charlie Martin and
Bill Mc Cartin. The Lupine Gallery is open every day from Memorial Day until Columbus Day. Telephone (207)594-8131 or email
lupine@midcoast.com.
