Kate Cheney Chappell - Artist's Books
Kate has been making artist's books since taking a workshop at Haystack (Deer Isle, Maine)
with Sas Colby in 1993, "Poem as Object/Object as Poem". Her books explore a variety of traditional
(hand sewn, non-adhesive bindings, accordion, etc.) and non-traditional book forms, and often include poetry (her own or others).
A collaborative project, "The Envelope Book" involving 21 women artists and bound into a two volume book of
envelopes has been shown extensively.
